Unit description 

HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life-threatening emergencies in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide an emergency response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Course Duration 

The duration for the units HLTAID001 & HLTAID002 is delivered and assessed over one (1) day of full time study within (8) hours, each day including half an hour break for lunch Days: 1 day – full time (8:30 am – 5.00 pm) Nights: 2 nights – part time (5:30 pm – 10:00 pm) Pre reading of theory prior to attending class is mandatory—training manual will be issued 2 days prior to attending class.
